ownathlete is a coach that plans your training from your own data and talks with you about it. These are the terms on which you use it. They are short because there is not much to say; the Privacy policy says what happens to your data.
1. Who
ownathlete is run from Vilnius, Lithuania, by KV Consult MB, trading as ownathlete. "We" and "us" on this page mean KV Consult MB. Write to hello@ownathlete.com.
2. Price, trial and cancelling
ownathlete costs €16.99 a month or €169.99 a year, VAT included. In another currency you pay the price shown at checkout, VAT included: set by us for the main currencies, converted by our payment provider for the rest. Your first 14 days are free. You give your card at the start of the trial; the first charge comes on day 15, and then on the same day every month or every year, as your plan is, until you cancel: it renews on its own. Cancel any time from More; you keep the app until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing more is charged.
Payments are taken by Stripe, which sells the subscription to you as the merchant of record and handles refunds and disputes under its own terms, shown at checkout. We never see your card. If a charge was a mistake, write to hello@ownathlete.com within 14 days and we will sort it out.
The app may change, pause or stop at any time, and features may come and go. We do not promise that it is always available or that the coach is always right. If the price changes, we tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect.
3. Your account
- One account per person, for yourself. You are 18 or older.
- You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep the codes to yourself; anyone with a code and your email can open your account.
- An account opens when we approve your address. Until then your address is on a list and nothing else about you is kept.
- You can leave at any time: More, then Delete everything, removes your record, your files and your connections at once.
4. What the coach is, and is not
- The coach is a language model. We choose which language model runs the coach, and may change it; the privacy page names the one in use. It reads your record and writes a plan and its reasons. It is training advice from your data; it is not medical advice, and it is not a doctor, a physiotherapist or a dietitian.
- You decide what you do. A session the coach writes is a suggestion for a healthy adult; if you feel unwell, are injured, are pregnant, or have a condition that bears on exercise, see a doctor before you follow it. If something worries you, or the coach says something worries it, see someone.
- The coach can be wrong. It is asked to say so when it is, and to learn from it. Tell it when the numbers are not the whole story.
5. Your data
Your record is yours. You give us the right to keep it and to send it to the coach so the coach can do its job, and nothing more. You can take it all out as a file and delete it whenever you like. The Privacy policy is part of these terms. Using your health data needs your consent, which you give on your first screen, before anything is read, and can withdraw by deleting your account.
6. Plain use
- Use ownathlete for your own training. Do not put another person's data in it without their consent.
- Do not try to get into the server, another athlete's account, or the connections to your devices' makers by any route other than the app.
- The connections to WHOOP, Oura, Polar, Wahoo, Garmin and Intervals.icu are under those companies' own terms too.
7. Responsibility
You use ownathlete at your own risk, as you would any training plan. As far as Lithuanian and EU consumer law allows, we are not liable for injury, illness or loss that comes from following the coach, from a session it planned, from the service being unavailable, or from data being lost. Nothing on this page limits what the law does not let us limit, and nothing takes away the rights you have as a consumer in the European Union.
8. Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we email you before the change and say what it is. If you keep using ownathlete after that, the new terms apply; if you do not want them, delete your account before they start.
9. Law
Lithuanian law applies, together with the consumer protections of the European Union where you live. A dispute goes to the courts of Lithuania, or to the courts of your own EU country where the law gives you that choice. Talk to us first; most things are quicker that way.
