If you coach yourself with an AI chatbot, the hard part isn’t the advice. It’s getting your sleep, HRV and sessions in front of it every day. Here is every way we found, checked on 7 October 2026, and the easy one.
Built into the chatbots
- ChatGPT Health reads Apple Health and a few apps. There’s no direct Garmin, WHOOP or Oura link, and it launched in the US only.
- Claude reads Apple Health and Android’s Health Connect, in beta, in the US only, on its paid plans.
- The catch: Garmin and Oura don’t write HRV to Apple Health, so your morning HRV goes missing on this route.
Garmin
No official connection to either chatbot. People run open-source connectors on their own computer: install Python, edit settings files and hand over their Garmin password. Garmin changed its sign-in in March 2026, so these can stop working any day.
WHOOP and Oura
No official connection either. You register your own developer app with each and run a connector yourself.
Paid bridges, files and screenshots
A few paid services will do the wiring for a monthly fee. Or export your data as files, or paste a screenshot every morning, by hand, every time.
What every route still misses
- The chatbot reads your data only when you ask. A bad night or a late sync changes nothing until you notice it.
- Memory is thin. Claude’s memory leaves out health topics by default, and a long chat loses its beginning.
- It’s mostly read-only. Workouts don’t reach your watch.
- There’s no calendar of what you were asked and what you did.
Or skip all of it with ownathlete
Connect in a few taps, with no code. Garmin, WHOOP, Oura, Polar, Suunto, Wahoo, Intervals.icu and, in the iPhone app, Apple Health.
Your coach reads everything, every day. Your night and your sessions arrive on their own, and the plan changes the moment something does.
Workouts on your watch. Straight to your Garmin, and you still talk to your coach in a chat. Try it free for 14 days.
